Abstract

Relevance. One of the relevant issues of Slavic dialectology is studying of structural levels of new dialects. Ukrainian migrant dialects of the area between the Danube and the Dniester studied by A.A. Moskalenko, V.P. Drozdovsky, A.M. Mukan, V.P. Logvyn, T.P. Zavorotna and others at present are not studied enough, especially at the morphological level. Despite long existence in multi-langue and multi-dialect conditions, the development of these Ukrainian dialects is determined mostly by their internal relationships, genesis, and is also stimulated by inter-dialect contacts within the Ukrainian language. The dialects of the area are also characterised by their interference with Russian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Gagauz, which occurs first of all at lexical level, and that to some extent has focused the attention of linguists primarily at the peculiarities of the lexical composition of the dialects (P.Yu. Grytsenko, O.O. Miroshnychenko, I.B. Tsyganok, O.A. Daki). But the specificity of that dialect continuum, besides the migrant character, is also determined by the fact that the dialect microsystems presented here are mosaic and cannot be considered as an integral array. So each dialect, since being a peculiarly organised and formed communicative system, needs attention to its morphology. Purpose. It is necessary to determine the place of the new dialect of Jaroslavka village in Saratsky district of Odesa region among Ukrainian dialects of the area between the Dniester and Danube according to morphological features, which will make it possible to construct maps for regional atlas of Ukrainian dialects of the region. Tasks The stated purpose presupposes solution of following tasks: 1) to study the dialect speech of native speakers of the studied dialect on the basis of text implementation, 2) to analyse morphological system of the dialect, 3) to determine the integral and different morphological features of the dialect compared to other Ukrainian dialects of the area between the Dniester and Danube, and 4) to characterise the type of the dialect within the area. Conclusion. According to the morphological features the dialect microsystem of Jaroslavka village in Saratsky district of Odesa region shall be described as South-Bessarabian dialect with northern dialect basis in Eastern-Polissya subdialects (Eastern-Polissya and Middle-Naddnipryanshchyna border). The majority of its specific features not conditioned by northern dialect basis occurred in the area between the Dniester and Danube under the influence of south-east dialects, the minority – under the influence of south-west dialects, and also under stimulating influence of multi-language surroundings. Perspective. The perspective of the research is in description of morphological level of other Ukrainian dialects of multi-language area between the Dniester and Danube, which will make it possible to create a variative morphological portrait of those dialects and to construct maps for the regional atlas.

Research highlights. The author describes the morphological system of the Ukrainian dialect spoken in the area between the Danube and the Dniester Rivers, according morphological features establishes its place in typology of the Ukrainian dialects of this area.
