АНОТАЦІЯ Автор дослідження представив осмислення міфопоетичного начала поеми Мільтона «Втрачений рай» як елемента загальної системи його художньої спадщини і як синтезу античного і християнського начал. Робота складається зі вступу, трьох розділів, висновків та списку використаної літератури. В першому розділі «теоретичні аспекти феномену міфопоетичного мислення» розглянуто міфопоетичний світогляд як культурне явище, зокрема простудійовано особливості інтерпретації категорій міф, ритуал, символ, архетип в теоретико-методологічних студіях. У другому розділі «Античне та християнське начало в міфопоетичному просторі поеми Джона Мільтона «Втрачений Рай» досліджено естетичні і жанрові особливості поеми; трансформацію біблійних міфологем та античні алюзії в Біблійній рецепції англійського автора. Третій розділ присвячено методичним аспектам вивчення християнської символіки у поетиці творів шкільного курсу зарубіжної літератури. Автор виокремила кілька напрямів міфопоетичної трансформації Мільтоном біблійного сюжету в поемі «Втрачений рай»: трансформація суті протистояння антагоністичної пари Бог-Сатана (Бог виступає за абсолютне підпорядкування без права на пізнання; Сатана – за свободу вибору, пізнання й обстоювання почуття власної гідності); трансформація образів Адама і Єви; трансформація суті та мотивів гріха перших людей; трансформація образу Сатани; запровадження барвистих сцен битв між Богом і Сатаною (яких немає у Біблії), створення своєрідної хроніки Першого Бунту; зображення пекла як створеного Сатаною й облаштованого ним спочатку голого Місця у свою столицю Пандемоніум (Сатана зображений як творець); введення самостійного персонажа Смерті, яка прорвалася на Землю шляхом Сатани (а не даної як покарання Бога); зображення гріхопадіння як проблеми свободи вибору.

Суть розробки, основні результати:

SUMMARY The author of the study presents the mythopoetic origin of Milton's poem «Paradise Lost» as an element of the general system of his artistic heritage and as a synthesis of ancient and Christian foundations. The work consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusions and a list of references. In the first chapter, «Theoretical Aspects of the Phenomenon of Mythopoetic Thinking» the mythopoetic worldview as a cultural phenomenon is examined, in particular, the peculiarities of interpreting the categories myth, ritual, symbol, and archetype in theoretical and methodological studies. The second chapter, «Ancient and Christian Beginnings in the Mythopoetic Space of John Milton's Paradise Lost», examines the aesthetic and genre features of the poem, as well as the transformation of biblical mythologies and ancient allusions in the author's Biblical reception. The third section is devoted to the methodological aspects of studying Christian symbolism in the poetry of works of the school course of foreign literature. The author has identified several areas of Milton's mythopoetic transformation of the Biblical plot in the poem «Paradise Lost»: transformation of the essence of the confrontation between the antagonistic God-Satan pair (God stands for absolute submission without the right to cognition; Satan stands for freedom of choice, cognition and defending the sense of self-worth); transformation of the images of Adam and Eve; transformation of the essence and motives of the sin of the first people; transformation of the image of Satan; the introduction of colorful scenes of battles between God and Satan (which are not found in the Bible), creating a kind of chronicle of the First Rebellion; the depiction of Hell as a place created by Satan and initially transformed by him into a bare Place with its capital Pandemonium (Satan is depicted as the creator); the introduction of an independent character of Death, which broke through to Earth through Satan (and not given as a punishment by God); the depiction of the Fall as a problem of freedom of choice.
