The motive of a female power in the context of the gynaecocratic myth at the age of Russian Enlightenment in A. Pushkin's novel «Eugene Onegin» and A. Griboyedov's comedy in verse «The Woes of Wit» is considered. The patterns of family life of the Larins and the female nature of Moscow society are analyzed from this point of view.
