Abstract

Abstract The main goal of musical education in secondary schools is to help students form correct aesthetic ideas, to awaken in them a desire for beauty, and to promote their comprehensive development with the help of musical education. Therefore, teachers should pay special attention to the development of aesthetic education of students. The article examines the main approaches to artistic and aesthetic education of high school students in secondary schools in China with an emphasis on the role of music as a key means of forming cultural values and aesthetic worldview of students. The use of traditional and modern music in the educational process, methods and forms of musical education, as well as their influence on the development of creative abilities, national self-awareness and emotional intelligence of high school students are analyzed. A comparison of Chinese methods with approaches to music education in other countries is made, which allows us to reveal the unique features of the Chinese approach. The main challenges faced by music education in the People's Republic of China are identified, and the prospects for its development in the conditions of modern educational reforms are outlined.
