dc.description	Based on a study of the sociological survey of Soviet immigrants conducted in the early 1950s by American researchers at the Harvard University Russian Research Center, known as the Harvard Project, the features of interviewing respondents, its methods and procedures are considered in the article. The author points out the importance of this research project both for Western Sovietology, which has received a significant amount of oral history materials for the study of Soviet society, and for modern national science, because Ukrainian historians has only now beginning to refer to these sources. The project results are of great value for the study of the Soviet citizens’ everyday history in the pre-war period, as well as during the Second World War. Investigating the methodology used by scientists at Harvard University, its experience can be used in oral history researches. The article reveals the stages of the Harvard Project and the main types of interviews, analyzes the sample of respondents for interviewing, and describes the methodology used by researchers at Harvard University during the sociological survey. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of methods and procedures chosen to interview Soviet emigrants under the conditions of the Cold War between the USSR and the USA. The author highlights the project participants’ recommendations, contained in the special guide, on the need of taking into account social, national, psychological and political-ideological factors during the interview, as well as the requirements for the interviewer and the way of communicating with Soviet emigrants. Importantly, the researchers tried to use a variety of techniques to obtain more open and reliable information from the respondents, considering the specific character traits of a typical Soviet person and the psychological state of the refugee.	uk_UA
dc.description.abstract	У статті на основі вивчення матеріалів соціологічного опитування радянських емігрантів, проведеного на початку 1950-х рр. американськими науковцями Російського дослідницького центру Гарвардського університету та відомого під назвою «Гарвардський проєкт», розглядаються особливості інтерв’ювання респондентів, його методи і процедури. Автор вказує на важливості цього дослідження як для західної радянології, яка отримала значну кількість усноісторичних матеріалів для вивчення радянського суспільства, так і для сучасної вітчизняної історичної науки. Розкрито етапи реалізації «Гарвардського проєкту» й основні типи інтерв’ю, проаналізовано вибірку респондентів для інтерв’ювання, охарактеризовано методологію, що застосовували дослідники Гарвардського університету під час опитування. Особлива увага присвячена аналізу методів і процедур, які були обрані для інтерв’ювання радянських емігрантів в умовах «холодної війни» між СРСР та США. Автор висвітлює рекомендації учасників проєкту, викладені у спеціальному путівнику, щодо необхідності врахування соціальних, національних, психологічних та політико-ідеологічних чинників під час проведення інтерв’ю, а також вимоги до інтерв’юера й до способу спілкування з радянськими емігрантами.	uk_UA
