The article explores the problem of the educational area in the Ukrainian
Danube region after the Second World War. The writer analyzes the results of the
unification of the education system at the first stage of «Sovietization» (1940-1941)
and in the post-war period. The restoration of the Soviet system of public education was launched in
October 1944: primary, incomplete secondary, secondary schools, technical schools,
and the Akkerman Teachers’ Institute began functioning. The results of demographic
losses and famine of 1946-1947. There was a reduction in the contingent of students,
as well as a shortage of teaching staff. The policy of «sovietization» of the educational
sphere, as in the pre-war period, did not take into account the region's polytheism.
