In this article presents an attempt to argue the differentiation of empirical and
culturological concepts. For this purpose, are used both linear dialect texts and artistic
verbal structures.
We believe that any nomen of direct nominative meaning from the very beginning
of its functioning in a language beyond the limits of cultural, historical, and religious
contexts is a primitive concept. He appears in an empirical definition, because of which
the speakers eliminate culturological gaps in a cognitive thesaurus. The everyday
knowledge of people about all the phenomena of the environment is represented with the
help of the definition. The content of this definition is influenced by various factors:
spontaneous or prepared speech, speaker’s philological knowledge or its absence, ability
to give an exact answer to the question. It's like a kind of primitive scientific definition
based on the typological features of a particular phenomenon. An empirical definition is
a linguistic interpretation of reality in verbal formulas such as a broad contextual
description, which can comprise both left and right contexts.
Performing a symbolic function in traditional rites, culture, religion this primitive
concept acquires cultural significance and becomes culturological.
In this connection, we understand that the transformation of word into a word-
image due to the contextual ability to be multi-valued and have connotations is typical
for artistic speech. Figurative associations of objects with other objects of the real and
imagined world contribute to the actualization of those qualities, which aren’t
transferred by direct nominations.
In artistic text, this concept acquires an exceptional imagery because of polysemy,
stylistic figures, metaphors, and other tropes, comparative subordination, and verbal
diversity. All this gives a simple explanation for quite fast formation of the latest
paradigm of contemporary philological knowledge.
